Project Brief

Process
For this group project, me and Zoe Tham work together on the slides and research, we started out on discussing on which digital publish app that is agreed from me and Zoe. We discuss it in whatsapp and also in class. Zoe suggested games, but I turned it down due to fear of moving away or doing research on the wrong subject, she then suggested a language app as she reminded me the brief said study how it has evolved to replace print publication. At first we were thinking of duolingo app but then due to im not so familiarize with the app we then change to a news app. First we both settled on the BBC news app. Hence we started our research and content for our slides. Zoe listed out what I need to find and insert to the slides and then I started to do. I researched on what is digital publishing or publication (Surface info, not too in depth as we didn't had that much time presenting) , Brief history of newspapers (Physical) and the BBC news brief background. We then switched back to The Stars, as we didn't had a copy of BBC news to made a comparison on the digital vs physical. In the end we proceed with The Star News. After we finished our slides, I tried to insert humor that are related or out from the topic to break the conventional way of presentation by speaking quickly so people will be more focused and attracted, and putting funny pictures or slogans to enhance the formal sleepy atmosphere, as the targeted audience hence students and lecturers are bored with the same formality, tone and atmosphere of normal presentation.

EXPERIENCE
This is the first time for me to do a case study on a digital publish app. It is a whole new thing for me as I gain many knowledge through the process and presentation from others.
OBSERVATION
Overall this project is quite simple as its easy to analyse and compared it with the physical copy. Which my partner did an amazing job on. And its also easy to find historical info on the web.
I think my presentation skills still need an extra buff as I often stutter or pause in order to find words to describe what my mind is thinking, and maybe I could further increase the amount of slides and the presentation slides in order to have more in depth stuff to be shown off at a given time.
FINDINGS
Throughout the whole process, I felt that its good working together with Zoe her analyst and the suggestion of having a psychical copy as comparison. However, there are few things we disagree on especially picking apps. During the presentation, I'm glad that Zoe was able to wing it as usual since year 1. I'm glad we both had sufficient enough research and balance between info present and presentation time.
